TPI Epotar 100
Two-component solvent-based epoxy coating, coal tar resin composite.
DESCRIBE
TPI Epotar 100 It is a two-component epoxy and coal tar-based coating system with low solvent content.
TPI Epotar 100 After application, it will create a coating with high adhesion and good waterproofing on a variety of surfaces, effective corrosion resistance, and excellent chemical resistance.
APPLICATION
TPI Epotar 100 It is a chemical-resistant coating applied to:
- Wastewater treatment plant
- The bridge abutment is submerged in water.
- Steel or concrete storage tanks
- Oil storage tank
- Protecting steel structures
- Underground structures
TPI Epotar 100 It would not be suitable for application to surfaces in contact with drinking water.
ADVANTAGE
- Excellent chemical resistance.
- Excellent adhesion to most application surfaces (concrete, steel, etc.).
- Good corrosion resistance.
- Durable waterproof coating in chemical and wastewater environments.
- It can be applied as an interior and exterior coating for structures submerged in water for extended periods.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Surface preparation
Concrete:
- The concrete surface must be solid and have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm².
- The surface must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants such as dirt, oil, grease, old coatings, and surface maintenance compounds.
- Weak concrete and dirt must be removed. Surface defects such as pits, voids, cracks, and bumps must be treated and smoothed.
Steel:
- The concrete surface must be solid and have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm².
- In cases where the surface is submerged in chemicals, sandblasting is required to remove loose or contaminated components (rust paint, scale, etc.), ensuring a minimum surface area of 95% is well controlled.
- If the surface is not immersed in chemicals, all rust, scale, or foreign matter must be removed by degreasing (the surface must be maintained in a gray color); cleaning tools should be used as specified and recommended.
- For all cases involving metal surfaces, the coating must be applied within 4 hours and without delay after the surface has been prepared.
Check for moisture levels and apply a primer (if necessary):
- Check surface moisture, relative humidity, and dew point before application.
- If the surface moisture content is < 6%, an additional epoxy primer layer should be applied. TPI Primer FS.
- If the surface moisture content is >= 6%, an additional moisture-resistant epoxy primer layer should be applied. TPI Primer MB.
Mixing sequence:
- TPI Epotar 100 It is supplied in a two-component kit consisting of a base component A and a curing agent B.
- Component A must be thoroughly mixed separately first. Then add component B (the hardener) and mix thoroughly using an electric mixer, moving it up and down.
- The product is stirred until a homogeneous consistency is achieved, free from lumps and sediment, ensuring that no air bubbles remain in the liquid mixture.
Coating application:
- Apply the mixed product using a brush, roller, or traditional spray equipment, including vacuum spray.
- Apply the first coat in a fixed direction. Then apply the second coat perpendicular to the first, after the first coat has dried, usually within 24 hours.
Toilet:
- Clean equipment and tools immediately after use with thinner or common solvents. Once the paint has hardened, it can only be removed by mechanical means.
