TPI Primer SB
Solvent-based two-component epoxy primer
TPI PRIMER SB DESCRIPTION
This is a two-component, solvent-based epoxy resin primer with low viscosity. It is used as a primer for concrete surfaces before applying epoxy floor coatings.
TPI APPLICATION PRIMER SB
Suitable for use in the following applications:
- Primer for concrete, cementitious screed, and epoxy screed surfaces.
- Suitable for surfaces with low to high absorbency.
- Primer coat for epoxy flooring systems.
- Binder for self-leveling mortars and plasters.
ADVANTAGES OF TPI PRIMER SB
- Easy to install, short construction time.
- Non-toxic. Solvent-free, so it should be used in restricted areas.
- Its low viscosity allows for good penetration.
- Excellent adhesion.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Surface preparation:
- The concrete surface must be solid and have a minimum compressive strength of 25 N/mm² and a minimum adhesion strength of 1.5 N/mm².
- The surface must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants such as dirt, oil, grease, old coatings, and surface maintenance compounds.
- Weak concrete and dirt must be removed. Surface defects such as pits, voids, cracks, and bumps must be treated and smoothed.
Check for moisture levels and apply the primer:
- Check surface moisture, relative humidity, and dew point before application.
- If the surface moisture content is < 6%, use an epoxy primer. TPI Primer SB.
- If the surface moisture content is >= 6%, use a moisture-resistant epoxy primer. TPI Primer MB.
Mixing sequence:
- TPI Primer SB It is supplied in a two-component kit consisting of a base component A and a curing agent B.
- Before mixing, stir ingredient A thoroughly. Once all of ingredient B has been added to ingredient A, continue mixing for 5-20 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.
- Do not mix for too long to reduce air entrainment.
- Use a low-speed stirrer (300-400 rpm) or other suitable mixing equipment.
Applying the primer layer:
- Ensure the primer is applied completely and continuously to the substrate surface.
- For concrete with low/medium porosity, a single layer can be applied. TPI Primer SB.
- For concrete with high porosity, two layers should be applied. TPI Primer SB (in directions perpendicular to each other).
- It can be applied using a brush, a short-bristle roller, or a trowel.
Toilet:
- Clean equipment and tools immediately after use. Once the paint has hardened, it can only be removed by mechanical means.
Important note:
- Construction is not permitted. TPI Primer SB Up onto the surface where the moisture content increases.
- Do not replace the liner with another product.
- The primer must be applied evenly to the surface.
